Meet Jill
There are few problems, that cannot be turned into opportunities by simply interjecting the
appropriate creative and resourceful individuals into the mix. A good Mayor is a connector,
and Mayor Dabbs has an incredible ability to connect people with other people, designing
solutions for opportunities.
Serving as Mayor since 2011, Jill Dabbs wants Bryant to be a place that continues to grow
in the direction of one of the healthiest, smartest, and economically vibrant cities of the
21st century. Her vision has been embraced by both local and state leaders, as well as
students, and residents. The Mayor's readiness and enthusiasm for helping her city meet
the goals laid out in front of them has not gone unnoticed. She was instrumental in
creating a 10 year plan for Arkansas to fight obesity. The "Healthy Active Arkansas Plan",
recently launched by Governor Asa Hutchinson, lays the framework of encouraging and
enabling healthier lifestyles in Arkansas. Mayor Dabbs has also been able to pass policies
like a master Walk Bike Drive master street plan along with a master lighting plan that
encourages sprawl repair where needed and better guides new development.
When she is not passionately working with others to build an even better Bryant she is
spending time with her family, bicycling with friends, snow skiing or talking about any of
the three mentioned above. Energy is her middle name. She loves to travel as well as offer
her services and experiences when needed as a presenter on many topics affecting
municipalities. Mayor Dabbs recently spoke in Atlanta at the National Association of
Chronic Disease Directors where she showcased all that is being done in her amazing, fast
growing, friendly city. Just to mention a few recent accomplishments the city adopted its
first multimodal transportation plan, passed a bond reissue with 71% voter approval for
multiple capital improvements, she was instrumental in the passage of the recent Bryant
School Millage and the city in partnership with ARDOT just this week opened new exits to
Bryant Parkway which is under design and soon to be under construction.
Mayor Dabbs has served on the executive board of the Arkansas Municipal League as 2nd
Vice President, she is currently Vice President of Metroplan, she recently graduated from
the State Chamber Leadership Arkansas program, will complete the Community
Development Institute program this summer at UCA, and serves on the board of the
Southwest Trail.
